Showroom Style Garage – The Perfect Car Guy Garage
A showroom-style garage should be as clean as possible with no single item or tool out of place. The garage ceiling should have adequate lighting bulbs and the floor should be customized with polished reflective tiles to illuminate the light. The walls should also be repainted with white color to brighten up the room.
If you want to pull it off, you should first get the following items:
- Medium-sized garage storage cabinets with closing doors
- A refrigerator
- A flat-screen tv
- Tall garage lockers; they should be twice the size of the medium storage cabinets
- Wall mount cabinets
- Air conditioner
- Radiator
Here is a breakdown of what you need to do:
Step 1. Take all the items out of the garage.
Step 2. If you need extra lighting in your garage, make sure you consult an electrician before you start.
Step 3. After you’ve fixed the lighting ports, frame the ceiling and drywall it.
Step 4. Repaint the garage walls with white color.
Step 5. Install white LED panels in the ceilings. Make sure there are enough lighting panels to illuminate every corner of the room.
Step 6. Upgrade your garage with epoxy flooring. Most likely, you will need a professional contractor to patch your garage floor and install the epoxy floor. Make sure the epoxy floor type you choose is brightly colored to reflect the light.
Step 7. Apply polyaspartic hybrid urethane coating on the garage floor. This would be helpful to prevent oil stains on the garage floor.
Step 8. Assemble and install the storage cabinets and lockers on the wall. Since the garage wall is painted white, we recommend using gray or black colored cabinets to make them stand out.
Step 9. Install the air conditioner and heat radiator. This would be helpful to control the room temperature during summer or winter.
Step 10. Mount the TV at the center of the garage wall. Also, find a convenient spot to keep the refrigerator.
Step 11. Categorize the garage tools and store them in the cabinets and wall drawers.

Office Style Garage: Converting Your Garage Into An Office
If you have a spacious garage, you can build your home office inside it. Usually, there are two ways to go about it; you can either partition your garage on one side and build an office compartment or create an open office design that blends with the garage.
Here are a few things that you will need:
- Office desk
- Bookshelves
- Office chair
- Wall mount cabinets
- Air conditioner
If you want to get it done, what is the process?
Step 1. Take all the items and tools out of the garage.
Step 2: Clean the garage floor and walls.
Step 3. Measure your ideal office space and mark the boundary with painter’s tape. If you want to partition the garage, the most convenient spot to design the office would be at the corner of the garage.
Step 4. Install a wall socket in your office space territory.
Step 5. Create a partition wall along the designated area of your garage that you previously measured and marked with painter’s tape. This should be the area of the garage that you want to build the office.
Step 6. Install the lights and AC unit in the office partition. The garage and office space should have different switchboards.
Step 7. Add drywall to the partition frame surrounding your designated office. You should also insulate it.
Step 8. Install ceiling boards in the office section.
Step 9. Paint both the interior and exterior of the office space. You can paint the interior a different color, but the exterior part should blend with your garage.
Step 10. Install a door on the garage office section.
Step 11. Install vinyl flooring in the office compartment.
Step 12. Move the office desk, office chair, and bookshelves in the designated office space you’ve partitioned.
Step 13. Install wall cabinets on the other side of the garage and organize your tools. If there is not enough space, you can mount some of the tools on the wall.
Note: Alternatively, you can put an office desk and chair in your garage without creating a secluded area for the office space. This would be ideal if you don’t have enough space to partition, or you just prefer an open office design.

Garage Bar Concept
What if you want a bar in your garage? You can pull it off with the right modifications. The idea is to build a bar counter with your favorite drinks in the garage and still have enough room to park your vehicles. Of course, you also need to make the concept look interesting and unique to make your friends jealous.
A few things you will need:
- Storage cabinets
- Wood frames
- Air conditioner
- TV
- Bar chairs
- Liquor cabinet
Here is a breakdown of the steps to build a bar in your garage:
Step 1. Take out everything from the garage.
Step 2. Re-paint the garage walls. Since it’s a garage bar concept, you can mix up the colors a little bit. We recommend painting the bottom half of the wall black and the upper part with light grey paint. You could also paint a thin orange stripe at the center of the garage wall.
Step 3. If you love art, you can paint graffiti on your garage walls. If you can’t do it yourself, you can hire a professional graffiti artist to help you out.
Step 4. Install extra socket outlets on the wall close to where you want to set up the bar counter.
Step 5. Clean and degrease the garage floor. After you’re done, patch the cracks on the floor and prime it.
Step 6. Add an epoxy coating to your garage floor. Make sure the color of the epoxy coating blends with your garage wall.
Step 7. Figure out how much space you need for the bar counter. Once you have measured the designated space, mark the boundary using painter’s tape.
Step 8. Put two cabinets of the same size together. This should be done in the designated space you want to set up the bar counter. However, make sure there is enough space between the cabinets to fit a trash can.
Step 9. Build a wooden wall that surrounds the two cabinets. The point is to create a freestanding bar counter with two cabinets built inside for extra storage.
Step 10. Install a counter bar top made out of wood.
Step 11. Add laminate of vinyl flooring on the bar countertop. Also, install wood trim on the bar counter.
Step 12. Apply lacquer coating on the wooden part countertop.
Step 14. Mount a tv on the bar area.
Step 15. Install the liquor cabinets on the wall.
Step 14. Set up the lights and air conditioner in the bar area of your garage. You can use blue or red lights on the bar area.
Step 15. Position bar chairs next to the bar counter.
Step 16. Move everything else into the garage. Make sure you put the tools in the cabinets and mount them on the wall if necessary.

Garage Gym: Rehabbing Your Garage Into A Personal Gym
If you love to work out, the garage is the perfect place to set up your gym. Fortunately, a garage gym doesn’t require too much work as long as you have the right equipment. However, you will need a garage large enough to keep your gym equipment and still have space to park your vehicle.
A few pieces of equipment you will need:
- Dumbbells
- Weight bells
- Treadmill
- Indoor cycling bike
- Bars and weight plates
- Smith machine
What steps should you follow to put a gym in your garage?
Step 1. Take everything out of the garage.
Step 2. Clean and seal the cracks on your garage floor.
Step 3. Install epoxy floor coating in your garage.
Step 4. Re-paint the garage floor. You can choose any color as long as it blends with the garage.
Step 5. Add vinyl plank cover on top of the existing floor. Alternatively, you can also add a gym carpet to avoid damaging the floor during exercise. A good quality gym carpet should also be non-slip to prevent tripping accidents.
Step 6. Install extra lights and air conditioner if necessary.
Step 7. Move your gym equipment into the garage. Ideally, you should put your gym equipment at the corner of the garage so you can have space to park your vehicle.
Step 8. Install the storage cabinets and organize your garage tools.

Classic Garage Rehab Project
There is nothing fancy about this garage style but on the bright side, you can pull it off on a tight budget. For the most part, you need to be creative with your storage solutions and avoid cluttering the space. This would be ideal if you have a small-sized garage.
Here are a few things that you will need:
- Wooden shelves
- Plywood countertop
- Hanging hooks
- Storage cabinets
- Pegboards
- Wall mount organizer
If you want to do it yourself, how should you go about it?
Step 1. Take out every item from the garage space.
Step 2. Clean the garage floor and prep the walls for a paint job.
Step 3. Add a primer to your garage walls and paint the color of your choice. For a classic look, we recommend white paint on the walls.
Step 4. Add an epoxy coating on your garage floor.
Step 5. Assemble the shelving unit and put it against the wall.
Step 6. Upgrade your garage lighting fixtures. For a classic garage style, you can use pull-down light fixtures.
Step 7. If the bottom seals on your garage door are old or worn out, you need to replace them. This would help to insulate the garage and prevent water from leaking inside during a rainstorm.
Step 8. Replace the garage door rollers and brackets if necessary.
Step 9. Install overhead storage rack on the roof. This is perfect if you want to save space in a small garage.
Step 10. Install pegboards on the wall to mount your garage tools.
Step 11. If you want, you can keep a washer and dryer in your garage. A good idea to save space would be to fix a plywood countertop above the washer and dryer.
Step 12. Stain the countertop wood surface and apply a polyurethane finish.
Step 13. Mount wooden shelves on the garage wall. Don’t forget to stain them and apply a polyurethane finish.
Step 14. Install hanging hooks on your garage wall. You can also install a wall mount organizer to hold your shovel, broom, and pruning tools.
Step 15. Assemble and place storage cabinets in your garage next to the wall.
Step 16. Place a garage table close to the storage cabinet. You can also install a mini-fridge or extra cabinets under the table to save space.
